Oh Little Blog, How I Have Ignored Thee..

It has been a really crazy few weeks. And while I set up this blog account with the full intention of blogging at least twice a week, I have failed. Well just for this month anyway.

So what has kept me away from blogging you ask:

1. Sales. My little madeit store has been really busy the last few weeks. I'm so happy. I've even sold a few items that have been there for months, which is even better. I sold practically nothing in December (I was so disappointed), had a few sales in January. But Febuary, my oh my! I've sold a heaps. I have a few custom listings to complete and my second wholesale order.

2. Toilet training. Miss 3 has finially decided that it's time to be a big girl. And I must say, it hasn't been anywhere near the drama I thought it would be eg. lots of accidents and soiled undies.

3. Facebook Fan Page. I'm really glad to see it grow. I'm also really loving hearing some great positive comments. Only about half my madeit sales have left feedback. This always leaves me wondering if they're not happy with the purchase, or just a little slack on the feedback.

4. Get Fit 101. So while I've been spending a lot of my spare time sewing, it has meant I haven't done much else (except for eat a tonne of malteasers). The scorching summer heat hasn't helped either by keeping us housebound and out of the 40+ degree hreat. So the scales have crept up a little. I'm crushed. It took me a lot of effort to lose the 27kgs I put on last pregnancy. Not the mention the 2kgs that were still there from the first time round! And to see some weight gain is not good at all. So I bought a bike trailer for the kids now that Miss 1 is old enough to go in it. We also have a MacPac backpack (the best thing I have ever, ever, ever bought for the kids). So I've been riding and hiking as much as possible.

So I had better get back to my sewing and finish off projects.

Oh and i have also joined a great handmade cooperative blog. Here's a link: http://handmadecooperative.blogspot.com/

I really must learn how to do html link codes. Oh and get those lovely gadgets on my blog.

Happy Creating

It's raining pinnies!

Over the last few weeks I've been putting together more winter pinnies. Some have turned out wonderful and others not as pretty as I'd hoped. But they're almost finished. Just a few more button holes to go! Hope to get the on madeit asap!

I got my fabric order from fabricworm last week and it's been patiently waiting for me to sort out what to do with it. I have so any ideas and just not enought time at the moment. It's the first time I've had the case off too muuch fabric and not enough time.

Reminiscing

My project for this weekend is to finally sort through all our photos.

When I met my Hubby he had just separated from a long term relationship as had I. I guess that's why we clicked, we knew what each other were going through (I mainly thought he was hot!). So he had a whole heap of loose photos taken from albums which he wanted to keep. I have lead a nomadic life until I met him, so I have never really had a proper photo album.

I have also just realised that my youngest is nearly one and I don't have an album or any printed photos of her yet.
My plan for our girls is to have an album each for their first year and then just have family albums.

It's funny sifting through you past.

When I was 19 I never imagined for a second that I would be where I am today. My goal then was to join the Army. In year 11 an Army officer visited our school to talk about a career. I knew that's what I wanted to do. I looked into it a little further only to discover that I didn't meet the height & weight requirements (which has now changed), I was too short and too thin. I was gutted to say the least. My Dad was in the Army as were both my Grandfathers. It seemed perfect. So I had to find something else to do.

Having come from a crafty family I decided to try the local school uniform shop for a job as a sewing machinist. I only lasted 6 months. Who knew after all these years that my first job would now lead to my very small home business.

So here's a few of my fave pictures. I would love to scan some more and put them up. Maybe another time.

Just thought I'd pop up a few pics of what I've been up to lately. Check out my madeit store to purchase.

My First Blog

Hello & Welcome!

I'm still very new to the blogging scene. I hope to share my sewing adventures with you. I'm even hoping to put up some tutorials for a few sewing patterns I've designed. Will be back soon, just have to figure out how to get this set up properly.

Cheers

Laura
